Brunch Bunch: Orange Proof Syrup Makes These Classic Cocktails New

Orange Proof Syrup makes a great Old Fashioned, but we’ve only begun to taste its potential. We tried Orange Proof Syrup in some of our favorite brunch beverages this weekend — recipes originally developed around Traditional Proof Syrup — and we’re loving what our newest syrup does with champagne, gin, and floral, fruity, and herbaceous spirits. Here are three of our favorites:

Champagne Cocktail à l'Orange

½ oz Orange Proof Syrup
6 oz Champagne
Orange Twist to Garnish

Pour Proof Syrup into champagne flute; top with champagne, then give a quick stir — just a turn or two with a long-handled spoon. Garnish with orange twist.

Orange 75

½ oz Orange Proof Syrup
1 oz Gin
4 oz Champagne
½ oz Lemon Juice
Lemon Wheel to Garnish

Shake gin, Proof Syrup, and lemon juice with ice. Strain into an ice-filled Collins glass and top with champagne. Garnish with lemon wheel.

Vodka & Soda & Orange

½ oz (or More) Orange Proof Syrup
2 oz Vodka
½ oz Lemon Juice
Club Soda to Top
Lemon, Lime, or Orange Wedge to Garnish

Shake Proof Syrup, lemon juice, and vodka with ice. Strain into an ice-filled Collins glass, top with club soda, and garnish with citrus wedge.
