Woody-sweet cognac, with its hints of clove and fruit, makes this WWI-era cocktail one of our favorites. We like this with Remy Martin or Hennessy VS, both of which are easy to find and reasonably priced.
- 1 ½ oz Cognac
- ½ oz Orange Proof Syrup
- ½ oz Cointreau
- ½ oz Lemon Juice
- Orange Twist to Garnish
- Measure all ingredients into shaker; add ice and shake until well combined.
- Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- Garnish with twist of orange peel.
