Strong and spicy, the mule is most often made with vodka — but we suggest choosing your own adventure with this recipe. Simply mix Moscow Mule Proof Syrup with your favorite spirit and club soda for a fast, easy, refreshing cocktail.

Of course, "Moscow mule" is the name for specifically the vodka version of this cocktail. Change the spirit, and you've got a mule of a different color.

  • Vodka: Moscow mule
  • Bourbon: Kentucky mule
  • Tequila or Mezcal: Mexican mule, or El Burro
  • Gin: London mule, or gin mule

  • Strainer
  • Bar Spoon
  • Copper Mug or Highball Glass 

Steps

  1. Measure Proof Syrup and spirit into shaker; add ice and shake until well chilled and combined.
  2. Strain into ice-filled copper mug or highball glass; top with club soda, and stir gently.
  3. Squeeze lime wedge over top, stir gently if desired, then drop wedge into cocktail as garnish and serve.
