When you hear “Pumpkin Spice,” do you imagine crisp fall mornings, scented candles, and pie, pie, pie?
Fair enough — it’s a seasonal thing. But the aromatic spices in Pumpkin Spice Proof Syrup taste a lot more Caribbean than Starbucks when mixed with rum, lime juice, and ice in our Grenada daiquiri.
One of our personal favorites, this cocktail is a classic daiquiri with two tweaks that make all the difference, flavor-wise:
- Aged rum: Light rum is great if that’s what you’ve got, but aged rum is a more flavorful version, with a hint of molasses and a richness that gives your cocktail complexity and depth.
- Pumpkin Spice Proof Syrup: This syrup’s clove and allspice notes are the perfect aromatic complement to aged and dark rums.
We love this recipe — it’s one of those “you mixed what with what?” cocktails that’s approachable and familiar, yet still tastes like bartending magic.
