This New Year’s Eve, Mix a Big Batch for Your Big Bash

Less hassle than individually mixing drinks and cheaper than an open bar, batched-ahead cocktails are easier on the host and ensure guests get top-quality cocktails all evening.

Big-Batch Cocktails

Batch Old Fashioneds (8 Servings)

Ingredients

  • ½ Cup (4 oz) Traditional, Maple Bacon, Orange, Pecan, Pumpkin Spice, or Black Walnut Proof Syrup
  • 2 Cups (16 oz) Your Favorite Aged Spirit (We love bourbon, rye, and aged rum for this recipe.)

Garnishes: Orange Peel for Traditional, Orange, Pecan and Black Walnut; Crisp Bacon for Maple Bacon; Cinnamon Sticks for Pumpkin Spice

Steps

  1. In a large glass jar or pitcher, stir spirit and Proof Syrup, then refrigerate until ready to serve.
  2. To serve, stir again, then pour mixture into ice-filled rocks glasses.
  3. Garnish as desired.

Proof Pumpkin Punch (8 Servings)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Gin
  • 1 cup Aperitivo Cocchi Americano (or Dry Vermouth)
  • 3/4 cup Pumpkin Spice Proof Syrup
  • 1/2 cup Allspice Dram (Store-Bought or Homemade)
  • 3/4 cup Lime Juice
  • 3/4 cup Lemon Juice
  • 1 cup Cranberry Juice
  • Lemon Slices, Cinnamon Sticks, Star Anise, and/or Rosemary Sprigs to Garnish

Steps

  1. Combine all ingredients except garnishes; stir vigorously to incorporate, then refrigerate until ready to serve.
  2. To serve, stir again, then pour mixture into chilled punch cups.
  3. Garnish as desired.

Winter Punch (8 Servings)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Prosecco
  • ½ cup Pumpkin Spice Proof Syrup
  • ½ cup Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur
  • ½ cup St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Chai Tea
  • 1 cup Ginger Ale
  • ½ cup Cranberry Juice
  • ½ cup Pineapple Juice
  • ½ cup Lemon Juice
  • Cinnamon Sticks and Star Anise to Garnish

Steps

  1. Combine all ingredients except Prosecco, ginger ale, and garnishes; stir vigorously to incorporate, then refrigerate until ready to serve.
  2. To serve, add Prosecco and ginger ale to refrigerated mixture; stir gently to combine, then pour mixture into chilled punch cups.
  3. Garnish as desired.

Booze-Free Cocktails

While most Proof Syrup flavors contain small amounts of alcohol (thanks to the bitters or tinctures they contain), and all were designed with nicely boozy cocktails in mind, some of us enjoy them in non-alcoholic beverages, too. Here are some of our favorite ultra-low-ABV festive sippers — perfect for pacing yourself over the hours-long haul of a good New Year’s Eve blowout.

Passion Fruit Soda (1 Serving)

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Compassion Fruit Proof Syrup
  • ¼ oz Lemon Juice
  • Club Soda
  • Lemon Wheel and Luxardo Cherry to Garnish

Steps

  1. Combine Proof Syrup and lemon juice.
  2. Fill Collins or double Old Fashioned glass with ice.
  3. Pour Proof Syrup-lemon juice mixture over ice, then top with club soda. Give a quick stir to combine.
  4. To garnish, gently fold lemon wheel around cherry, then secure with cocktail pick.

Shirley Temple (1 Serving)

Ingredients

  • ½ oz Pomegranate Proof Syrup
  • ¼ oz Lime Juice
  • 4 oz Ginger Ale
  • Orange Slice and/or Luxardo Cherries to Garnish

Steps

  1. Combine Proof Syrup and lime juice.
  2. Fill Collins or double Old Fashioned glass with ice. Pour Proof Syrup-lime juice mixture over ice, then top with ginger ale. Give a quick stir to combine.
  3. Garnish as desired.

Roy Rogers (1 Serving)

Ingredients

  • ½ oz Pomegranate Proof Syrup
  • ¼ oz Lemon Juice
  • 4 oz Coca-Cola (or Other Cola)
  • Luxardo Cherries to Garnish

Steps

  1. Combine Proof Syrup and lemon juice.
  2. Fill Collins or double Old Fashioned glass with ice. Pour Proof Syrup-lemon juice mixture over ice, then top with cola. Give a quick stir to combine.
  3. Garnish with Luxardo cherries.
